Anarchist baking is a metaphor, a practice and a call to transformation. In the fermentation that begins when flour meets water and air, we find inspiration for the self-organising systems that coarse through anarchist thinking. By naming loaves after anarchist thinkers we hope to revive and popularise ideas that we believe can help us all to thrive through challenging times. But taking back the production of our daily bread is not only metaphorically powerful: it is a practical step towards far more wide reaching social and political change. Try baking our own bread – together – it becomes clear how much more we can do for ourselves.
